Bird Beer Release

Bird Beer Release

"Bird", our Hoppy Strawberry Ale, is back! Made with tons of handpicked and juicy strawberries from Fairwinds Farm in Bowdoinham--and all Maine grown grains--Bird highlights one of our favorite summer ingredients in Maine! Brewed with Mosaic hops, this beer has a strong nose of strawberries, a hop-forward bite and a sweet strawberry finish, catch this seasonal brew before it's gone. Bird will be available on draft and in cans.

First there was a book; now there is a beer. Named after Mattie’s feisty 20-year-old strawberry-cheeked cockatiel named Strawberry B. Bird (who thinks her name is just Bird). Strawberry and her antics were the inspiration behind a character in local author (and illustrator extraordinaire) Charlotte Agell's book, "The Accidental Adventures of India McAllister." Catch Mattie behind the bar to hear some of the tales of Bird's love of strawberries, Cole Porter, and all dogs.

Much like it’s namesake, this summer brew is both sweet, delicate, and a little feisty!

(No can limit and case discount of 10%)

Grog-Shop Can Release

Grog Shop is a Rye IPA dry-hopped with Centennial and Simcoe (5.5%). This beer is juicy, spicy, and dank with notes of citrus, floral, honey and pine. Brewed with some of the first batches of Organic Rye malted from Blue Ox Malthouse. Grog Shop will be available on draft and in cans.

Named for an insulting phrase that Portland Mayor Neal Dow, the Father of Prohibition, used to describe Brunswick's legislative delegation. Neal Dow was giving a "lecture" at Bowdoin College where he proceeded to not only insult the college but described the entire town as a bacchanalian backwater. The label (and Facebook banner) is a picture of an editorial from the Brunswick Telegraph, published on May 1st, 1885, where the editorial board called out Dow and defended their town.
